FAQs
SugaVida Palmyra Blossom Nectar
Is Palmyra Blossom Nectar a Superfood or a sugar?
Palmyra Blossom Nectar is a sweet Superfood that can be used as a nutritional supplement, a healthy sugar replacement, or both!
I already supplement with B vitamin pills - why should I use Palmyra Blossom Nectar instead?
Put simply, it’s always better for your body to obtain vitamins and minerals through nutrition rather than pills. Whole foods are recognisable to the body, therefore the uptake of their nutrients is greatly increased. Synthetic and even some food state vitamins can be difficult for your body to absorb, so they can be wasteful and expensive to use on a long-term basis.
Amazing Palmyra Blossom Nectar is naturally rich in vitamins B1, B2, B6 & bioavailable B12, and is an easily incorporated addition to your daily diet.
If you have been recommended to take B vitamins, you may wish to consult your nutritionist or GP about making the SugaVida swap to see how you feel!
Why is Palmyra blossom Nectar better than regular sugar? Isn’t sugar just sugar?
White sugar is made by stripping the nutrients and colour of the sugarcane plant through a rigorous refining process. It offers no substantial health benefits (with over-consumption being linked to a growing documented list of negative health effects) because all the wholesome goodness has been taken away during its production.
Palmyra Blossom Nectar on the other hand comes from a completely different species to sugar cane. It’s the unrefined nectar from the Palmyra palm tree (leaving its impressive nutritional content intact), has a low glycaemic index (keeping blood sugar levels stable) and tastes delicious. It also has different chains of sugars that interact with the body in beneficial ways.
Plus, it supports people and our planet through our sustainable operations in India, where we work directly with farmer cooperatives to ensure they’re paid a fair wage.
How can SugaVida Palmyra Blossom Nectar lower my blood sugar levels?
In our nectar, we have discovered an iminosugar named Palmyrin™; a plant compound that both regulates blood sugar levels in the body as well as reduces inflammation, the root cause of most diseases.
This new and very exciting field of science is specialised in by our partner scientist, Dr Robert Nash.
Dr Nash has found that SugaVida Palmyra Blossom Nectar is the ONLY Palmyra nectar that contains Palmyrin™, due to our proprietary method of extraction and processing.
This is why we have patented it, to ensure that when you buy SugaVida Palmyra Blossom Nectar, you know you’re receiving the Palmyra nectar that contains this iminosugar, and therefore all the associated health benefits it provides.
Is Palmyra Blossom Nectar better than coconut sugar?
The short answer, in our opinion, is yes!
Here's why. Palmyra has a far superior nutritional profile, notably containing bioavailable vitamin B12.
Most importantly though, Palmyra Blossom Nectar contains the unique natural compound Palmyrin™, which has the remarkable ability to both lower blood sugar and reduce inflammation.
This means our nectar has a wide range of therapeutic benefits, including curbing sugar addiction, improving energy, reducing brain fog, improving mood, balancing hormones, boosting immunity, improving skin, as well as promoting more restful, uninterrupted sleep.
From an environmental perspective, coconut production is intensively farmed. We organically and sustainably wild-harvest our Palmyra Blossom Nectar from a special area in South-East India where the terroir enhances the biology of the whole tree, and thus the nutrient profile of its nectar.
Can I cook or bake with Palmyra Blossom Nectar?
You certainly can! Cooking and baking with Palmyra Blossom Nectar is easy; use a one-to-one replacement for regular sugar to make delicious and nutritious creations. You’ll find inspiration on our Recipes page!
Does Palmyra Blossom Nectar contain carbs? If yes, how many per serving?
Palmyra Blossom Nectar is a wholefood rather than a synthetic sweetener, therefore it does contain carbohydrates. There are 7g per teaspoon (8g).
Is Palmyra Blossom Nectar suitable for diabetics?
Palmyra Blossom Nectar has a low glycaemic index, is low in fructose, and contains the blood sugar stabilising compound Palmyrin™, making it the ideal choice for diabetics.
How much should I have each day?
For general wellness, we recommend 3 teaspoons per day, evenly spread throughout the day.

SugaVida Turmeric Superblends
What makes SugaVida Turmeric Superblends better than other turmeric powders and pills on the market?
Firstly, whole foods always tend to be absorbed more effectively by your body than pills.
Secondly, the quality of turmeric is very important – supermarket-bought turmeric will typically only contain 1-3% curcumin (the active ingredient that contributes to turmeric's health benefits), whereas the turmeric we source contains a very high natural percentage of approx. 7-8% curcumin.
Currently, there are only 4 farms worldwide that can guarantee organically grown turmeric with this potency, as it’s so time-consuming and expensive to grow.
We’ve worked with Ayurvedic doctors to combine our turmeric with the precise amounts of complementary spices to activate the curcumin- giving you maximum great taste and health benefits.
Don’t just take our word for it though, SugaVida Turmeric Superblends were voted ‘Best Drink’ by top UK doctors in 2018.
How are your Turmeric Superblends best used?
We love mixing a teaspoon into hot milk to make the perfect Turmeric Latte or traditional Golden Milk. SugaVida Turmeric Superblends can also be added to smoothies, juices or protein shakes, sprinkled onto porridge or yoghurt, or even stirred into curries. The possibilities are endless!
